- ➤ Carmel Middle School student Henry Bartle (14) placed fourth at the National Middle School Cross Country Championships in Louisville. He overtook 32 runners over the final two kilometers and finished the 4k race in (13:17.0). Monterey Herald
- ➤ MPC’s Mary Hooper finished eighth overall at the State Community College cross country championships in Fresno—earning All-American honors for her strong performance. Monterey Herald
- ➤ Monterey Peninsula College football lost 20 to 14 to American River in the Gridiron Classic Bowl game Saturday—ending a season marked by growth and tough losses. Coach Adrian Gallegos said he plans to improve the offense and add bigger players by summer. Monterey Herald
