  • Local author Eve D’Vincent has released her book Captive Ambassadors: The Hidden Lives of Zoo Animals, where she shares her research of zoo animals and the impact of captivity—she grew up in Carmel Valley and spent many summers in South America and Alaska studying animal life. She said her work challenges common ideas about zoos and she is now planning her next book on roadside zoos.  Monterey Herald
