- ➤ Monterey Bay Fisheries Trust launched the Community Seafood Program to support commercial fishing during the COVID-19 pandemic and deliver fresh seafood during a government shutdown—meant to ease food shortages and help the fishing industry recover. KAZU
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Monterey County plans to extend its contract with LongView International Technology Solutions to add five new kiosks that will provide free fentanyl test strips and naloxone to reduce opioid overdoses. The Board of Supervisors will vote today at 9 a.m. at the Government Center in Salinas using Opioid Settlement Funds to serve high-risk areas including the Salinas Transit Center and Monterey Peninsula College Student Center. - ➤ Crews are working on the Canyon Del Rey Segment of the Fort Ord Regional Trail in Del Rey Oaks as TAMC teams place curb ramps at Carlton Drive and Work Avenue—adding retaining walls and drainage systems for the Frog Pond Wetland Preserve. TAMC said it does not expect the frog pond work to finish by Dec. 15—updating the project timeline. Monterey Herald
