Scott McLaughlin won the Mission Foods Grand Prix of Monterey Sunday at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca with a 1.3-second margin over Kyle Kirkwood as he turned his top qualifier status into his eighth career win, his first in 36 races, leading 87 laps under blue skies and high 60s temperatures.
Monterey safety Israel Johnson returned an interception late in the first half to help his team win 26-20 over Seaside in the Battle of the Bay rivalry game held at Seaside on Saturday.
