  • At Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on Sunday, the 1924 Hispano-Suiza H6C Nieuport-Astra Torpedo was named Best of Show after a day of judging, with Penny and Lee Anderson Sr. from Naples earning the honor. Lee’s win marked his second victory after a 2022 win with a 1932 Dusenberg Model J Figoni Sports Torpedo, and Fritz Burkard of the Pearl Collection owns the car.  KSBW

  • A bill called AB 1454, authored by Salinas Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas, would shift California schools to evidence-based reading instruction—focusing on phonics and structured literacy—and give school districts more flexibility in choosing materials.
