  • A 79-year-old Carmel man was arrested for stabbing his wife to death at their home on Raymond Way on July 24 — he did not enter a plea at his court appearance on Tuesday and will appear on August 13 for a competency hearing with bail set at $1 million.  KION

  • The Migrant Education Program—created in 1966 to help children of migrant workers—faces a proposed cut from the 2026 federal budget, a move that could affect about 10,000 students in Monterey County who rely on it for academic and health support.
