Soledad installed Monterey County's first public microchip scanner outside the police department to help reunite lost pets with their owners today.
SNIP said it plans to install more scanners across Monterey County, with the next set up at the Seaside Police Department tomorrow.

88-year-old Libby Downey (a retired nurse and former Monterey City Council member) is two years into her law degree at Monterey College of Law, fulfilling her lifelong dream as she pursues legal studies.
She will decide her next steps after completing her coursework.

The military has delayed cleanup of PFAS at Fort Ord until after 2042 (costs have risen to $13.6M) as complexities slow progress while redevelopment on parts of the base continues.
