- ➤ Monterey County law enforcement agencies supported Special Olympics by running a torch run outside City Hall in Salinas on June 26. Participants from CHP, the Sheriff's Office and the District Attorney’s Office (including former Team USA Olympian Nick Cunningham) ran the Flame of Hope, and more than 3,000 officers will carry the torch across the state this week ahead of Summer Games at Santa Clara University.
