- ➤ Free shuttles and parking will be available at the Salinas Sports Complex for California Rodeo Salinas visitors from July 16 to July 20 — shuttles run every 15 minutes. Service hours are July 16 to 18 from 4:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. — and July 19 to 20 from 11:15 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with parking available on a first come, first served basis. KION

- ➤ A fire started at 1:30 a.m. last night east of Gonzales near Johnson Canyon Road and grew from a five-acre grass blaze to 11.4 acres before it was fully contained, with firefighters remaining on scene to mop up (the fire spread slowly) and check for hotspots (to keep the area safe). KSBW
