KSBW 8 has compiled a list of upcoming Fourth of July events along the Central Coast.
In Salinas, Compass Church is hosting a free fireworks show at the Sports Complex on July 4 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. + other communities will hold parades, festivals, and family activities.
Today, leaders from Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito Counties host a live event to show support for immigrant and undocumented communities.

On July 1, California will enforce new laws that require clear customer consent for subscription renewals, stricter rules for online marketplaces to stop stolen goods, and full fee disclosures for short-term rentals.
The bills also extend work safety protections for domestic helpers, raise minimum wages in several cities, update crisis support in schools and court notices, and expand fertility treatment coverage (with one bill facing a possible delay for state workers until July 1, 2027).
Rep. Panetta led an effort to protect the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center at the Presidio of Monterey, which evolved from a small World War II-era Japanese-language school into the largest military foreign-language institute.
The move aims to secure the center's future role in national defense.
PG&E said customers in Monterey and San Benito counties may lose power today until Sunday due to high winds and dry conditions that could spark wildfires—specific addresses and details will be provided two days before any shutdown.
This measure is part of the utility's preemptive safety steps in high-risk areas.
