  • A record marine heat wave is causing ocean temperatures off the coast to break records, starving seabirds and foreshadowing hotter, more humid weather ahead. Scientists say the trend may also trigger more thunderstorms (and dry lightning) that could increase wildfire risks.  Monterey Herald
