  • Monte Bella Elementary will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for a new 8,000 sqft performing arts center—seating 200—with a 3 p.m. kickoff on Wednesday at 1300 Tuscany Blvd. Student groups like the Aztec Dancers and Guitar ensemble will perform as district leaders invest $8 million to boost local arts.  Monterey Herald

  • Three athletes, JT Byrne, James Milovale, and Salinas High grad Jeff Weimer, were invited to NFL rookie mini-camps over the past weekend. Weimer gained attention after recording 75 receptions for 1,016 yards at Idaho State.  Monterey Herald
