ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A Union Pacific freight train collided with a flatbed truck hauling water containers near Pajaro on April 29th at about 3:30 p.m., sending the truck driver to hospital with injuries and spilling several hundred gallons of diesel that was contained in a ditch — briefly delaying Amtrak's Coast Starlight service. - ➤ Salinas police arrested a 28 year old man on multiple charges of sexually assaulting a minor under 16—detectives said he used social media platforms including Snapchat and Instagram to contact victims and believe there may be additional victims as the investigation continues. KSBW

- ➤ Monterey Peninsula College is celebrating improvements to its athletic and fitness facilities. Two voter-approved measures funded the $31 million project—upgrading tennis and pickleball courts, softball and baseball fields, new locker rooms, and a modernized gym. KSBW
