- ➤ SPCA Monterey County is hosting its three-day Spring Jewelry and Fashion Event from Friday through Sunday next month at the SPCA Benefit Shop in Carmel (26364 Carmel Rancho Lane) to raise funds for rescued animals and encourage community adoptions. Monterey Herald
- ➤ Residents at The Pointe at Northridge have not received mail since their mailboxes were broken into in March, and management said secure units will be shipped April 29 so delivery can resume immediately while residents pick up mail at the post office. KSBW

- ➤ Lalla Grill Promenade will open its new Monterey Peninsula location at Marina Dunes Shopping Center, next to El Charrito, on Wednesday, May 6. It will serve dinner initially and plans to add breakfast, brunch, and lunch service soon. KSBW

- ➤ An 11-member Environmental Justice Advisory Committee met Friday night at the Salinas Rotunda to urge DPR (Department of Pesticide Regulation) to improve SprayDays alerts and call for a new air monitoring system in Salinas. Local residents and students supported the recommendations for more precise alerts and better air quality monitoring. Monterey Herald
- ➤ Beach-goers in Monterey County have seen thousands of by-the-wind sailors, a free-floating sea creature, washing up along the shore. Experts are monitoring the situation to determine if changing ocean currents are causing this event. KION

- ➤ Becky G was spotted on Saturday night at the Monterey Bay FC game cheering on her boyfriend Sebastian Lletget during the penalty shootout win over Oakland Roots. Monterey Bay FC will play FC Tulsa on Sunday. KSBW
