- ➤ CHP rescued an injured hiker who fell from a cliff on Pine Ridge Trail in Big Sur on Monday when rescue operations began at 12:30 p.m.—H-70, an HRT member, and a paramedic aided the rescue and took the hiker to a hospital. KSBW

- ➤ Andrew Alvarado, 34, pleaded guilty in federal court on Tuesday for his role in his self-described Murder Squad that killed 11 people and tried to kill 17 in Salinas, and he faces a possible life sentence with sentencing set for July 15. KSBW

- ➤ Residents in Royal Oaks asked the Pajaro Valley School District to relocate the bus stop at the corner of Las Lomas Market and Hall Rd because it lacks sidewalks and crossing signs and exposes students to speeding traffic—Las Lomas Market owner agreed while Monterey County authorities have not yet responded. - ➤ Federal budget cuts to NOAA have delayed a plan to reduce whale entanglements in Dungeness crab gear—this delay puts Monterey’s marine life and local economy at risk. Experts say fewer safety rules contributed to 36 whale entanglements last year, and state efforts now face more pressure. KSBW
