- ➤ Monterey County District Attorney Jeannine M. Pacioni announced that a Seaside man—Stephen Earl Guice, 51—was sentenced to 29 years to life for the rape and false imprisonment of an unnamed woman at the Bulldog Sports Pub on April 4. KSBW
- ➤ A bicyclist from Watsonville was hit on Salinas Road by a black GMC Yukon near Pajaro on Wednesday afternoon—other drivers helped the rider while police arrested the suspect, who now faces a felony hit-and-run charge since alcohol or drugs were not a factor. KION

- ➤ Salinas City Council signed a letter supporting Assembly Bill 63 to toughen prostitution laws — the bill would make loitering with intent to commit prostitution a misdemeanor and allow police to better investigate potential sex trafficking cases.
