ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Ventana Wildlife Society announced that the Central Coast condor population is growing with six active nesting pairs and 114 birds overall. Biologists will monitor nests for 56 days as eggs incubate until April while urging hunters to use non-lead ammunition—helping ensure the birds thrive. KSBW
- ➤ A brewing El Niño and warmer coastal waters are drawing more white sharks and possibly other species near Salinas beaches, with experts predicting a larger influx later this summer (in July) and advising beachgoers to follow posted advisories. The Californian
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ About 10,000 people are expected at Monterey County parks on Easter Sunday for picnics and family activities, with some areas featuring fun surprises (as noted by Chief of Parks Bryan Flores).
