  • Grassroots organizers are planning No Kings Day rallies across the Peninsula to boost civic participation ahead of forthcoming elections. In Salinas, Indivisible Salinas Valley will meet at South Main Street and Blanco Road from 12 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 28.  Monterey Herald

  • Young artists in Salinas are displaying personal art at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital in a permanent exhibition featuring 23 student creations commissioned via a 5000-dollar grant for each school from Hartnell, Rancho Cielo and CSUMB. The exhibit honors community heritage through expressions that reflect everyday life.  KSBW

  • Diesel prices in California rose above $6 per gallon for the first time in four years, pushing up fuel costs for truckers and raising transportation prices for goods.
