- ➤ Alvarado Street Brewery will open a new production facility and tasting room in Castroville this fall. The new site on Commercial Parkway (near Blackie Road) will boost production from 15,000 to 45,000 barrels annually while the Salinas location remains open. KSBW

- ➤ Local DJs in Monterey County are reviving classic analog music with vinyl-led events like Night Glide on March 8 at a roller rink pop-up and Fadeaway sessions at Bud’s at La Playa Hotel. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Feb. 25, Monterey County planning commissioners met to discuss drafting an ordinance for on-site cannabis consumption at retail stores while addressing safety, odor, and public health concerns. - ➤ On Monday, Mar. 2, the Historic Resources Board voted 5-1 to revisit a revised resolution for renaming the Intermodal Transit Center as Salinas City Heritage Park — a move aimed at increasing tourism and local economic activity. Monterey County Now
- ➤ The County of Monterey will unveil a COVID-19 memorial garden at Government Center Plaza on Mar. 10 at 10:30 a.m. to honor 940 residents who died during the pandemic; county officials including Supervisor Luis Alejo will speak at the ceremony. KSBW
- ➤ Monterey Regional Airport’s new terminal project is under construction as two teams work on the building and the parking lot roundabout at Garden + Olmsted, with steel supports scheduled to go vertical by end of April and a visible skeleton by Memorial Day following a June 2025 groundbreaking. - ➤ The Salinas Valley Sports Hall of Fame will induct seven former athletes, two coaches and the 1979 Salinas High football team this fall — a ceremony to honor local sports legends. Monterey Herald
- ➤ PCAL announced the boys all-league soccer teams, naming top players from local high schools. The teams will compete in upcoming matches * showcasing the talent on display and fueling community pride. Monterey Herald
