- ➤ Watsonville Film Festival announced its 2026 dates with screenings in Watsonville, Santa Cruz & Salinas. The festival will feature 50 films, 20 cultural events, a local filmmaker summit, after-parties with bands, and a festival beer with Buena Vista Brewing on the theme Art as Resistance. KSBW
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Alisal High School was placed on a secure campus Tuesday after graffiti was found in a bathroom, and the district said there was no active threat with classes continuing as normal. KSBW
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Salinas is advancing plans to redevelop three Chinatown properties on Soledad Street with a goal to add 55 family housing units and 30 senior apartments and a retail space. The city received a ($1.5 million) grant for pre-development work and expects construction to start in June. KSBW

- ➤ The Breakers ended Marina’s season in the CCS playoffs today as Pacific Grove and Palma advanced into the divisional semifinals, moving the teams deeper into playoff action. Monterey Herald
