- ➤ Highway 1 in Big Sur reopened just before noon Wednesday after a three-year closure, letting drivers from Carmel and Cambria connect on this scenic route. Caltrans safely managed work on a challenging coastal slide — using remote-control bulldozers and mesh netting to protect crews. KSBW
- ➤ Governor Newsom confirmed that Highway 1 in Big Sur reopened at noon on Wednesday, reconnecting traffic between San Francisco and Los Angeles + the move ended a three-year closure due to slides and is expected to boost visitor access to local businesses. KSBW
